To Expert in the Swiss Building Simulation Association members of the association may apply in one of the specific subject areas. The application is made by submitting relevant qualifications, experience and completed projects. The application is then evaluated by active experts from the association, who assess the professional expertise and suitability of the applicant. One advantage of being an expert in the Swiss Building Simulation Association The basis of the association's work is an intensive dialogue with other experts in the respective subject area. In addition, subject-specific enquiries addressed to the association are forwarded directly to the relevant experts so that they can contribute their expertise to specific projects and issues. The association also ensures that the list of experts is published on various platforms and that their expertise is actively highlighted.
The application process for the list of experts comprises several steps:
Examination of the documents by the secretariat: The secretariat checks whether the applicant is a member of the association and whether he/she has applied for a maximum of 3 subject areas.

Only the member data that is actually necessary to achieve the intended purpose is processed. All association members will be informed of any changes to the data protection guidelines. For the application process for new experts, the following data is required in addition to the membership data already entered:
The secretariat and the expert group have access to the data and are responsible for processing it. The submitted reports are reviewed by the respective experts in the subject areas. Once the review has been completed, the applicant will be informed of their expert status in the respective subject area. If there is no objection within two weeks, the reports are deleted.
Where the data is stored
We store all member data in Microsoft 365, which complies with the European data protection law of the GDPR.

Disclosure of member data within the association
The basic rule is that only data about association members that is absolutely necessary for the purposes of the association may be processed or disclosed. The reports submitted as part of an application are treated in strict confidence.
Disclosure of data to third parties outside the organisation
Certain data such as surname, first name, company and contact details may be passed on to third parties outside the organisation in order to carry out the expert placement. The members concerned are informed in advance about the recipient and the purpose of the data transfer and have the right to object to this transfer.

Our Swiss Building Simulation Association is mainly financed by member contributions and operates independently. Transparent communication is important to us.
